Aromatherapy Blends Made Specifically for Your Pet

The Benefits
Use Wisely

Aromatherapy for animals, like for humans, involves the use of essential oils to promote physical and emotional well-being. There is growing interest in its potential benefits. When used appropriately and under the guidance of a professional, aromatherapy can offer several benefits to animals.

While a plant based product is often the best choice there are some important considerations when using Aromatherapy Oils.

Safety First: Not all essential oils are safe for animals. Some oils, like tea tree oil, citrus oils, and eucalyptus, can be toxic to pets if used improperly or in excess. Always consult a veterinarian or a certified animal aromatherapist before using essential oils with animals.

Proper Dilution: Essential oils should be properly diluted when used with animals. They are highly concentrated and can be harmful if used in undiluted forms or in high concentrations.

Application: Aromatherapy oils can be applied topically or diffused.

When diffusing your oil, only use 3-4 drops of oil in a water-based diffuser. Be sure to diffuse in an open area with a door open so your pet can leave the room if it chooses to.

For topical application, place a drop of oil on your hand, rub them together and massage along the spine of your pet. You can also apply to the tip of your pet's ear, it is important to ensure the oil does not get into the ear canal.

Individual Sensitivity: Just as people can have sensitivities to scents, animals may also react differently to certain oils, so it's essential to observe them closely for any signs of irritation or discomfort.

Aromatherapy can offer a range of benefits to animals, from reducing anxiety and promoting relaxation to assisting with pain relief and digestion. However, it should always be used with caution, ensuring that the oils are appropriate for the species and that they are used safely.
